For my Street Tracker rebuild I'm looking for tach and speedo options, smaller, digital whatever.
When I first built back in the seventies options were limited so used the large stock gauges.
I'm looking to get away from those with this build.

I bought mini gauges from dime city cycles in all black (links below). I believe they sell them with chrome bezels as well. I love the look. Nice and compact.

I am not thrilled with the speedo the previous owner/builder put on mine. He did not put a tach on the bike. I like these. Do both of these hook right up to my 1980 XS650? I have a stock front wheel set up. The order page says to be sure of the stock gauge set up and it might need a diode. Is this something I need to know first?
Here is what mine currently looks like.

A single small speedo is in my interest as well.
The “Special” gauge cluster is good looking, but a “Tracker” to me is a minimum equipped street legal dirt bike. The further I vision my own project, the more parts are headed to the “to go box” lol.
I’m heading to just a small speedometer, hidden ignition switch, minimal dirt bike like handlebar controls too.

Does anyone else have this speedo? I just ordered one and I hope the quality is good. Some of the reviews are not so great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YMTRZZY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I’m not sure whether or not you bought the correct ratio. I have forgotten what Yamaha is but it doesn’t match Honda AFAIK.
I bought the same one at Dime City some time ago. I bought it very inexpensive. It’s still in the box, so I can’t tell you how good or bad it is.

I copied this below from the forum for what the speedo should be. I don't recall who posted it.
"2240 rpm at 60mph is jap bike ratio, about 2.8:1".
The Amazon order says it is a 2240:60. I was hoping or assuming" that meant the same as what I copied.
prolly just for the turn signal indicator. two basic diodes wired as shown here, done

Only needed if the turnsignals are LED or if the ground lead for turn indicator bulb is not separate from the other bulb grounds
