Electronic Ignition - Less Vibration

@5twins, something about your stator's timing marks caught my eye.

My (2) XS1B stator housings, identified as "LD115-01".

An XS2 manual excerpt, stator housing identified as "LD115-02"

Notice that all the above have only 2 marking lines narrowly straddling the "F" mark.

Now, your LD115-02 stator housing, with a degree wheel overlay.

I see 3 timing marks around the "F".
They appear to be at 9°, 15°, and 20°.

Very strange. Never noticed this before.

I'm thinking about making a degree wheel strip to double-check my timing marks...

When I was adjusting / retarding the timing today when turning the big bolt with bike in neutral the bolt came loose! My guess is that it wasn't tight to begin with. I zapped it with my M18 fuel 120ft lbs. Seems like it shouldn't come loose now. But that was scary. I almost didn't notice it.

My pic is from my '78. The '78 shop manual shows it this way as well, with the 3 marks. Must be a later alternator "mod" to the timing marks. I never bothered to check the marks with a degree wheel. I just assumed the small slashes on either side of the "F" slash mark represented the ends of the idle timing "range" (13° and 17°).
