    carb questions

    so my 72 xs has had timing,valves all adjusted. i have pod filters and open exhaust and while the bike is running it spits gas back out of the intake side of carbs. the carbs were cleaned new gaskets installed and i upped the main jet to 137.5 from 135. didnt touch the pilot or needle. adjusted...

    jetting ?

    so my 72 xs650 seems to be starving for fuel when cruising at 55 or so then i open her up. it kinda falls on its face .open exhaust, pod filters, clean carbs, adjusted valves, cleaned carbs. now what,timing?

    carb questions

    there are 3 tiny holes in the carb throat when the butterfly valves are closed one of the holes is visible on 1 carb & not on the other, are they supposed to be showing or hidden behind the valve? help please

    rectifier swap?

    would a 1981 xs400 rectifier be an acceptable swap for my 72 xs 650? the 650 is bare bones, just head & tail light

    discharging battery

    why is my battery,even a new one, constantly being drained? bad regulator or rectifier?

    Silly me

    So i have been asking questions here & never itroduced myself... im aaron, i have a 1972 xs 650. its been hardtailed,wiring stripped to the bare minimum, has a sporty tank,sporty frontend including the wheel. its a fantastic flat & gloss black. has no fenders, kick start only.

    Bike giving me headaches!

    :banghead:MY 72 xs 650 runs rough around 1/2 throttle and will backfire & pop when i let off. im wodering could the carbs dirty,need an adjustment, or need to be sync'ed ? HELP A NEWBIE OUT !!!
