Bike was used last night for the opening of a restaurant/workshop/bar

My builder asked me to display it, and it was by far the most popular bike there.

Press were there and loads of pics were taken.

Some pics in 'rim&rubber'

John congrats, but shame on you for not displaying her in my favorite Yamaha yellow and checkers glory!!:cheers:

Thanks Dave!
Taste is a wonderful thing! :)

I actually prefer her as she is now.
Lighter.
Definitely faster with the pipes.
The focus when you see her now is on the motor rather than the pipes, which are great, but the motor is magnificent!

Just the acewell to fit, and then I'm done.

Might use those pipes on the bobber:):):):)

WONDERFUL bike John.

I am very anxious to see how that engine stays together. That is a LOT of juice for sure.
Have you had it on the dyno yet? Curious at to what it is actually putting out.
PLEASE keep this thread live as long as possible as I really want to know when it grenades. NO,,, I do NOT want it to happen but with that huge engineering change I would think it is pretty inevitable.
Don't you?

Actually I don't
:)
This engine has done 1000s of kms with the bore and stroke.
I've probably done at least 500 myself.

Only changes I've really made are to the carbs, ignition, cooling and oiling systems.

Pulls like a train. Dyno to follow

EXCELLENT,,
Do you have a "book" on it? On what was done to the engine, a list of parts and their specs? I would very much like to see this info. I have a spare engine that I would very much like to build, much like yours. So any info would be very much appreciated.

Thanks John and keep the shiny side up

Thank you!
It's actually all here in the thread.
I got lucky and bought it bored and stroked already.
Running, but very difficult to start.

Tony Hall from Halco built the crank and made the sleeves in the '90s.
Bike was used like that for a good while, until I got it.

I then 'purtied' it up, and did some performance mods, and now she starts on the button and goes like stink!

Just having the Acewell clock fitted, and I'm done

I'll be sure to dyno it in a month or so.

Thanks again!!

Got fuel taps and a cap for the brown tank from der muede on eBay

A really great source of goods for xs's!!
