'77 left hand switch on a '73

Hey all, how hard is it to rewire a left hand switch from a '77 to work with the harness for a '73?

I had to use a Suzuki switch on my 72 xs because I couldn't find a replacement original one,The yamaha one has 8 cables and the Suzuki one has 10 ,it was a faily simple job to find out which ones were not needed ,I just cut the extra ones off and connected the rest to the existing harness .I think the ones I cut off we're probably the self cancelling turn signal ones and the headlight pass one .

What year and model of suzuki was it for?

Sorry don't know .I got from a auto jumble,I would think it was mid 90'sl.It looks pretty much the same as the yammy one but a little chunkier.
As long as a switch has the same controls on it ,ie turn signals lights on and off and horn it should be possible to make it work.
