Try a local independent dealer, they can get them in a few days and cost about the same as Mie's.
Another alternative is try a good hardware store or electric motor repair shop. Take your old brushes with you. Find a pair as close to the same size as your old pair. They often come with just a copper washer on the end of the wire. Just unsolder the washer, the metal strip on the old set solder the new brushes to the oild metal strip.
The new brushes I got this way cost around $5 a set.
Oh on the metal strip after you un solder the old brush drill a small hole where the brushs solders on. This way you can put the wire from the new one in from the inside and solder it on. This way you just put the brushe straight in, no wrap the wire around.
Derek, in that case I would remove the stator, mount the parts and look from inside the stator. If any screws stick through to far there are some that are not sticking out but are way deep. Rearrange till they all come about flush.
