A notification message, I can not open ???

Hi all---The alert for a notification message has been going off for three days and I am unable to open it. The flashing envelope sign is going off and I have clicked on it 30 times and nothing happens. The flashing continues. Am I doing something wrong ??? Thanks . tim

Have you tried entering your control panel,
Then 'list messages',
Then goof around in there to see if the alert switches off...
