Advance rod bearings/bushings

Did the factory ever ship xs650's with needle bearings in the camshaft for the advance rod?
Seems to me all the ones I've worked on had bushings. Thoughts anyone?

At the Yamaha site, in the parts listings it shows the bushing and labyrinth seal right fromthe start.

No, needle bearings never came in the cams, only bushings.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I ask because I ran across an article that referred to "factory needle bearings" in a discussion about the advance rod.
