Assistance needed in identifying the year and specification of this XS650

Hello Fellows,

This is my first post and I want to say what a great website it is. I have been knocked out by the bikes of the forum members and because of this I have decided to build or have built a XS650 in this style that I accidently found whilst looking on Youtube.

In order to source a suitable bike may I kindly request from the forum members any advice on what model year this is and what has been modified from stock regarding the frame, wheels, tyres, tank, bars, etc. to this stage of the build?

Basicly in Standard trim, tank/side-covers/forks/wheels.

Removed the guards and seat, lowered the front forks buy sliding the triple tree down the forks, This should be a no no, Bad geometry for handling. shorter/lowered, shocks on the rear

Any 74 and later bike to 83 will be a good candidate for your build. Remember, a bike in good condition with all the parts and in good running order may be more value as a classic than as a chop.
