I am in the process of bringing a 74 TX back to life. The battery box is rusted badly. I need a solid replacement. What years battery box will fit my 74 TX?

I would say up to '79. '80 and later boxes would probably fit as well but wouldn't have the mounting tabs and tapped holes in the same places for the airbox and electrical components. '73 and older differ as well.
depending on how bad the rust is I might try repairing the one you have. Start with a good cleaning, sand blast it. This will let you get a good look at what you have,
