can coils be painted ????

I have new set of v-tech high output coil ( like the green one's mikes sell ) they are ornge and don't look very good on my green and black bike.
 
I've done it without consequence. I don't know if you aren't supposed to, but since there's not much heat involved, I can't see why not.
 
I think its just the mounts that are heat sinks. You could maybe just mask of the back of the mounts if you wanted to be safe.
 
I have my Dyna Coils painted on my Warrior. Been that way for 2 years and I have had no issues. Same reason. Didn't like the burnt, red color that they were. I just painted them with Krylon Fusion black paint. A lot of people over on the Warrior forum have been doing it for years.
 
One consideration would be electrical conductivity around the secondary output area. Might be best to mask that area above where the boots are.
