Center Stand interchange

Can anybody tell me what year centerstands will fit a 1980 xs650SG ?

I can't say for sure but if you go to a parts seller like boats.net and look at the parts fiches you can get the Yamaha part number then check all the years to find out which years use the same part number.
Loose your or break it?
If broke you can get the part broke off welded back on then reinforce it.

Leo, I just picked up a 1980 XS650SG that is missing the centerstand. I can't for the life of me figure out why it was removed by someone because it still has stock exhaust on it.

Maybe it broke. Early stands have a nasty habit of doing that. The tang breaks off, sometimes taking half the leg with it. Yamaha braced the stands finally for the last few years. I suggest looking for one of those. It will have a brace between the leg and tang like so .....

If you have access to a welder, you can add the brace to any of the older stands .....
