I've heard a bunch of different settings, but I adjust mine to about 1/2 inch of travel up and down. Since it's hardtailed it's not gonna change much when riding.
Spin the rear wheel and check tension all the way around the chain, the amount of stretch can really vary depending on what section of chain is on the sprockets.
