Hey guys, I took the bike out for its 3rd and longest ride today and the battery died after about 10 mins. Battery voltage is less than 12V at 2000+RPM so it appears it's not charging.

Specs:
- '75 Motor, original alternator/rotor, new brushes.
- Mike's solid state regulator/rectifier (new).
- Pamco ignition/HO dual coil (new).
- Radio shack 5ah 12V battery (new). Bike is kick only, obviously.
- I had the lights turned on for the entire ride.

I was reading through the tech section in an effort to diagnose this issue and came across the nylon screw thread. I suspect that this may be the problem? Where can I find these nylon bits? Anyone know what size they are? Is there a picture online somewhere of where they're supposed to go?

So far I'm enjoying riding this bike, even if it's only been for a few minutes!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Engines up to 79 do not require nylon screws, when used with the correct rec/reg.

Remove the brushes and measure the resistance between the 2 copper slip rings............should be around 5 ohms.

Thanks guys, I'll measure it so that I know, but I've already ordered parts to do the permanent magnet swap. May as well rid myself of this old charging system right now.
