Anybody out there put together a cheap o pma from eBay?

U can get the stator and flywheel and banshee mount for $70 free shipping

I can file down a key and trim the mount
Make it work with a $15 regulator

Just wondering if anyone has done it
And the quality of the knock off china parts

Probably better off saving ur pennies and buying a kit from tc or hugh

Thoughts????

I'll let you know in a few weeks, but my parts list so far is:

Honda VF500F stator: $43.69
Banshee rotor (not purchased yet)
Used Shindengen MOSFET FH020AA regulator: $49.90 (I really hate buying used electronics but I'm on a budget and it seems like a quality product)
Hugh's XS650 PMA Stator Mount: $34.99 (not even remotely worth my time altering the banshee mount, and I'm not JB Welding anything)
22000 uF 35V capacitor: $10.26

$139.04 so far plus $40 for rotor puts me at $179.04 vs. Hugh's $419 plus shipping. I went with the MOSFET regulator because I'm going 100% LED

This may be news to you, but TCbros, HHB, and Mikesxs all source their PMA parts from China.
The Ebay sellers also source from China.
So, if you want to buy Chinese PMA parts, buy from the least expensive sellers which are from Ebay.
Chinese PMA parts are low quality, so don't expect them to last very long.

PMAs parts from Japan or Germany will be much higher quality.

my thoughts? Don't waste your time and money on going PMA.
The XS650's stock rotating electromagnet alternator works better than a PMA
and if it quits it's easy and relatively cheap to fix.
