Compare '77D Standard and 79F Standard

Hallo

Im looking for a XS more. I have a stock 77D and happy with it
Im only looking for standards

Now I found two for sale a 77 standard and a 79 standard at almost the same price. But which xs is the best? I know the carbs are a little different, and of course the 79 is two years younger But what else? Some improvements for the 79?

Some consider the 77D the apex of the 650 line, and you have one. I'd be tempted to go for the 79 as it was the last year of the standard and seems to be a rare item to find. Not sure of any differences or improvements.......

Yes I was thinking the same.. More rare and therefore more 'special'..

The 79 was the last year for a Standard in North America, but in Europe there were Standards in the 1980's.
