Cosmetic ? On peg mounts

I took this pic from another thread...but the chrome peg mounts....on mine there not rusty but definitely not chrome...how did the look from factory...painted black? Just wondering.

Some were black , some were chrome. Depends on the year. My 75 has black, the 81 and 82 have chrome.

Got a 78...don't look like they were ever chrome so will assume they were black...thanks

I think the Specials had chrome ones, Standards had sort of a dull painted black. Re-coloring them with a waterproof magic marker gives a nice, original-like finish. Not too shiny, not too dull, and easy to do.

Good advise..thanks didn't really want to go all out on them just touch up...perfect
