Anybody ever broke a bolt in their lower tree? it broke right at the threaded part of the fork clap. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to get this out or should i say F- it ride it as is thanks for any help.
I'm with the fatman.
You might be able to take a smaller bit and drill in from the back side, mebbe a little heat on the triple body and some lube. Might get lucky and as you drill it might unscrew. I snapped one mesself some time ago, easy to over torque.
yup you are in the catbird seat as far as broken bolt's go. If you got a mig welder weld a nut on the back side and thread it out. The heat from welding will loosen the bolt and it will thread right out. you might be able to just cut a slot in the back side with a little abrasive disk in a dremel tool and unthread it with a screwdriver.
I've done that before, can't remember with what. Sawed a slot into the side of the bolt that's sticking out, and then just took it out with a screwdriver.
