difference between xs and tx ????

HI everybody.
I've just bough a tx650 74 and i would like to know the difference between xs and tx???

There's no significant difference. When Yamaha brought out their TX750 twin they gave the 650 twin a related designation. When the TX750 acquired a bad reputation due to engine failures and was discontinued, the XS designation was restored to the 650. Your 74 should be a TX650A--first year for the strengthened frame and series 447 engine.

I wanted to buy a XS650 ever since i saw my neighbor project bike. He was doing a bobber whit a old XS and i just feel in love whit this model was looking for a 70-78 CB 750 for a cafe project and stumble on the TX, well at first the owner told me it was a XS 74 special...
Later at home after looking at the vin number i realize it was a TX650A so i got a little nervous.
