Hi!
I´m new here and I don´t have a TX or XS (but I want one badly!!!).
What I need is some tecnical help regarding rear hub and spindle sizes. Let me explain:
I´m building a "special" (lets call it a "Bitsa", as our british friends call it...) based in an Ariel frame with plunger rear suspension. BSA250 fuel tank, fenders from the chinese CJ750 (BMW R71 clone), headlamp is also from a CJ750, front suspension from a 69 CB450, front drum brake from a CB360 laced to 19" rim.
My problem lies in the rear wheel: I was going to use a CB360 drum laced to 19" rim but the spindle is only 18mm diameter and the Ariel rear suspension has a 20mm cutout. i have been told that a XS650 rear drum willfit perfectly. Is it true? If yes, can I extend my search to other related Yamaha models, like TX500 or TX750? What about the rear drum and spindle from an RD350/250?
Here´s a preliminary mockup of my bike, fitted with CB360 18" wheels just to make it looks like a bike:

Yes, the TX/XS500, TX/XS650, and TX750 all use 20mm rear axles. I think the RD350 is smaller, probably 17mm.

Well, I have been thinking about matching a XT600 rear hub with a XS650 brake plate. Is it feasible? What´s the internal diameter of the XS rear drum?
Cheers,
Lucio
