Hi all,

Pretty new to the forum but have just started a project build based around the XS650

Just pulled the engine out of a donor bike that had had a little "combustion issue" namely it caught fire and the wiring loom got scorched. The electronics box is slightly melted but not totally destroyed.

My question is does anyone have a really simple diagram that shows how I can wire up the motor in the simplest possible way to test the motor in a test rig I am lashing together with bits of angle iron. I've seen a few examples on YouTube of firing up re phased motors in a rig but I just want the bare basics to ensure this motor functions before embarking on the rebuild.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated

The donor bike is a 1982 Heritage Special

Look through the Wire Diagrams Thread
There are a couple there for 80+, to test your motor all you'll need is power to the pickup on the alternator, the TCI, and Coils. Starter and everything else is optional.
