while the fame and tins are out getting painted i decided to give the engine a little bit
i sprocket cut all the cooling fins, polished all the covers, and installed a full spike package
the frame should be back in on thursday
so i hope to have the bike back together in another week or so
hopefully in time for the smoke out in South Carolina

Actually, I was thinking pressure (there was a discussion on here some time ago as to whether the oil pressure in these motors is too low to warrant a gauge, and I suppose it is), but yes... good point. I'd like to know how that's done! Did you fab or purchase it? Nice touch!

oil temp gauge i got from one of our suppliers in spain
(forum member price - $125)
i am also working up some new custom oil pressure gauges for bolt on install
trying to focus on getting this bike done before making anything new

Seriously? you can get a pressure read from the dipstick hole? I'm flabbergasted. I would have bet it had to be a temp gauge, which actually gives me an idea. THANKS! :D
 
i sprocket cut the fins with a dremel
i used a round toothed carbide bit
and then small 1/4" buffing wheels to polish all the teeth
i have a standard dremel, also used a 90 degree head dremel and a pen dremel
then painted the whole motor and used q-tips with laquer thinner to go back and wipe each tooth clean

this was a long process
 
chop, are those gauges available from you? I saw that Heiden Tuning has them, but I was wondering if they're available stateside.

i have two of these gauges in stock right now
i import them from GZM in spain (www.gzm.es)

the sound bite is from a spoken word piece from Tom Waits
i found it quite fitting for my normal late night garage work

That sounds absolutely pain staking. younmustnhave a great deal of patience. I'm glad it turned out looking so nice after all of that work. Looking forward to seeing the final results.
 
spike s come as a kit? where?
I hope thats a 750? all that work is not worthy of a bone stock 650
