Engine question

i have an engine that came out if my bike when a partial restoration was done. The guy who did it says that the crank shaft gear is bad. I have the engine in a crate in my shop. I’m wondering if this is something that is worth digging into to fix. I’m asking because it is the original engine for the bike and I really would like to have it back to how it was when I got it in 83. The bike is an 1975 Xs650.

Could be the gear, remove the RH cover, spin it. If the gear looks like it goes round in a oval the problem's much deeper than a gear.

Thanks for the videos. I will have to take a look and see how f it has that wobble.
