A quick question to those who have lowered forks. Bare with me here this is all new to me so this might be a stupid question.
I bought a set of fork tubes on ebay. I was looking for a while and saw these.
The picture showed looked pretty good. I snatched them up. It was a buy it now auction. Shipping killed me though.
Anyway the other side are pitted a bit but cleaned up.
My question is when I lower the forks,( I wanna go 3 inches lower) will the travel area be into the pitted area on the tubes? Will I have to get new tubes in order to do this?

I am no expert either, but if you lower the forks 3", those pit marks will be right around where the seal is. And over time, the imperfections on the uppers will eventually ruin the seal. Dont know if youve been by yet but check out http://www.frankmain.qpg.com/

Hes pretty reasonable IMO.

Thanks for the link, stuntdouble. I'll have to compare prices with Mikesxs. Probably better quality at Frank's though. I have to rebuild the forks anyway. May as well do the tubes now then later.
