I had my tank professionally painted a few years ago and l just noticed rust on the very top of the filler neck and it’s starting to get under the paint. Any suggestions?its just where the cap seats on the top of the tank.
IMHO you need to cut/razor back any bubbled paint COMPLETELY then seal the paint edge with epoxy, crazy glue, or similar. many primers are porous and allow gas to get under the paint causing the bubbling.
That seal surface should be just bare metal no paint can take the abuse.
