im wondering what size the stock gauges are. Reason im asking is because im thinking about goin aftermarket speedo and tach. Just want somethin different and make it to fit my personality. Also, the tach is making a God awful screeching sound when im ridin down the street. Cant tell if its comin from the tach itself or if its the cable or what.

Its an ‘80 model.

Remove your cable, disconnect top and bottom, pull it out. Cut the corner off a small zip lock baggie, insert the top end of the cable and use tape to close seal the hole. Pour in a couple table spoons of oil and let the bag hang for a while. The oil should work it;s way through. Reinstall the cable and see how it sounds.

If you want something different, why not a single clock with analog tach and digital speedo, and the necessary warning lights? Simpler and lighter than a stock setup, then get a "speedo delete" from HHB or others, and a tacho drive cap or plug.

That would be awesome!!! Any brand that you could recommend?
I have used KOSO on 2 Ducatis, 1 RX-N2 and 1 DB-03. Worked great in both cases, with many useful functions. For my XS, I went with 2 separate clocks, Daytona Velona, but haven't tested them yet. A bit smaller than stock clocks, polished SS housings. Warning lights are a round pod from Koso, polished as well. Sort of wanted a stock-ish look, just smaller, lighter and no drive cables.
