Gen rotor

Hi guys, XS650 D, is the gen' rotor solid copper? this one is grooved about a mm deep & how long are the brushes when new?

new brushes are 14.5mm, wear limit is 7mm

I don't think the slip rings are solid. If your thinking about mounting it in a lathe and turning it enough to smooth out the groove. Maybe. Try it. Let us know.
