has anyone put a baffle in stock header?

my 77 just has the stock header pipes for exhaust (no mufflers), so if obviously has lost some bottem end power. have any of you put a baffle or anything into the head pipe, or any suggestions to regain some back pressure, i really like the look of the pipes with no mufflers but i may have to resort to putting them back on to regain a little power. any thoughts? suggestions?

not much room there may end up like plugging it with a cork, maybe find a piece of conduit that fits the diameter punch down some tangs/prongs to the inside and try it could cut it to different lengths to tune, someone has to do the guinea pig work and I guess you'll do
