Is it only the mounting brackets that where changed in 74 (further back?) reason i ask is that i don't want the brackets where they are mounted on my 82 as i need that for my footpegs . It's a rigid frame and just need to be sure that they will fit to the engine..

The engines in the early 70-73 models sit lower in the frame than later models. I can't find the thread, but I recall a member mentioned that the "down" portion of the headpipes is a bit shorter on the early pipes...
