Hello Guys, I have just got me a 1974 TX650 from a scrapyard ( well most of one ..)
for a tracker project I have found the frame number but all I can find on the motor where the number should be is 447 on the front lower mount Nothing has been ground off as the case is good and how it should be, on the frame the number starts with 447-
This is an import to the U.K. and I don't think it has been registered here.....
Any ideas Guys ........??????

I saw some unused NOS cases on eBay awhile back, same story, beginning VIN already stamped, trailing VIN area blank. At Honda, our new/replacement (60's-early70's) cases had no markings.

Hi Taff and welcome and Phil from Lancashire too!
Soon there will be enough Brits and ex-Brits on the forum that we'll have to start lessons in proper English for the North American majority.
But yeah, I'd suppose 2many's got the reason; it's a replacement casting with the number left off so you can stamp your own frame number in there after the 447 prefix.
