Homemade sissy bar

Anyone make there own sissy bar,just wondering how hard it is to bend stainless steel.

I am trying to build one as well. Stainless may not be the best choice if you need it welded. I tried Schedule 40 pipe and it might work, but I need a good bender or a good person to bend it. After a failed bad bend I am going to look for steel tubing rather than pipe for the project.

I made one out of 3/8 inch octagon tool steel heated with a torch and bent it, turned out ok

Or you could buy one that's made for the bike...but where's the fun in that? Post up pics when done...would love to see it.

If you have to ask kinda thing lol You need to be decent with a torch or have a pipe bender

Stainless is fine. As far as how hard to form, it just depends on what diameter it is. Anything over 3/8" and you'll want some heat to get clean bends.

Stainless welds easier than anything.
