Consolidated Privateer had a huge single tail and the B-24 fuselage.

If you happen to be in Tucson AZ March 4-7, you might want to park your car at Freedom Park and hike to the ridge with a folding chair and watch WWII fighters fly with the latest fighters. Heritage flight training week end! F-35 in formation with P-38! P-51 with F-22. I'll post pics afterwards. I do miss the howl of the mighty F-4's.

Interesting points to be made are the configuration of OV-101 and the 747-123, check out the airflow over the wing of OV-101 and the direction when it leaves the trailing edge, adding lift and directed air to the modified tail fin and horizontal stabilizer on the 747. Also when you look at this in flight, it looks as the shuttle does (angle of attack) when its in the unpowered glide back to terra firma on its own.....
I would surmise, because I don’t know, that the AOA would change somewhat (trying to slow the bloody thing down through thinner atmosphere) in the long decent back to earth.....great picture

Unbelievable.:yikes: Today on VFT
