Motor mount delete

I know this has been discussed but I want to split hairs a bit.
I’m fine with the upper mount but I don’t like the tube going forward the coil sits on. I’m chopping my 81 so considering removing that tube and gusseted and cleaning up the look of the upper mount. Possible known down sides of pulling that tube out?
I may be chopping and raking the neck which would then get much beefier gussets and tube removed.

If properly done it should be fine. HHB has some nice prefab gussets. Choppers and bobbers are about style not maximum performance. Pushed hard enough.in a corner it might shake it's head and spit you off. So might an unmodified frame with a fork brace, steering damper and tapered bearings. Ask me how I know...lol.
