Top motor mount

Hi guys just thought I’d ask a question about top motor mounts for my hard tail, I know there’s been a few discussions on here about them.

My question is, I’m thinking of making up some custom mounts but removing the tubing that goes from the motor mount to the front of the frame..... anyone done this?
I’ll also be replacing the gussets with a thicker plating.

Ive attached a pic for an idea of what I mean.

I only found it by searching for Wassell tanks a few months ago.
