My precious money pit

I've been having problems with painting my cafe seat cowl..crappy rattle cans. Its like a bad movie..take 3. At this point, I should have just brought it to a pro.
This is out of place, but here is a pic of my stock bike with superbike bars. I am trying to get the cafe look complete by sept 6th, as that's the weekend of my church's carnival ..so I really want to show it off as there is special motorcycle parking available right next to the beer garden.. crunch time I guess.

Thanks, yeah I just ordered some. As soon as this rustoleum enamel dries.. i,'all top coat it with 2k spraymax...r&e paint supply seemed to have the best deal on it..still $18.00 a can.

:(Not going to make it to the carnival with the bike. I've been too busy at work to finish it up. I did get the clear coat on the seat cowl.. just need to find out why the blinkers dont work at all now. I bought a new flasher, and will install soon. The blinkers worked fine after I cleaned up the switch a while back, so who knows now.. I'm at a loss. I will have to search around for my continuity tester and go from there. My plates are expired.. so I need to get bike ready for state Inspection. Yet again. I need to get a second cycle to ride.:(

So I finally got that blinker bar switch replaced. It works. Yay! I also found some guys thread on here that inspired me to upholster my own seat. I made it with fabrics from Jo-Anns store.. and cushion from garden kneeler pad with carpet pad too. I used the wifeys sewing machine. Not perfect but it will do for now.

Seat looks good man! Years ago I attempted a few seats and man was that humbling! Lol :)

Thanks Chopit. I finally got my ride together enough to take it for a spin today. New pipes and mufflers have yet to be installed. Its a totally different ride .

Its the little things that erk me.. but at the same time it's those small things that bring a smile to my face. This years state inspection sticker is "red" .. silly but convenient.

Ugh I would hate to live in a state that requires an ugly sticker on your bike! License plate should be enough. What do you do if you build a crazy chromed out bike with a sick paint job and it just looks beautiful and then your told here put this sticker on before you can ride it. Lol

Sorry just my rant. Lol
We don't have inspections or sticker requirements here but I hear many states do.

I finally got this bike back on the road. I still need to make a set of custom side covers. I have new pipes , mufflers, exhaust and uni filters for another addition, buy I will save that for those cold rainy days ahead. I'm very happy so far with my build. Folks at stop lights are staring at my ride now , far more than when in stock form. Compliments at gas station too.. DIY bike project is paying off with "ego pride".lol. It's still a 20/20 bike though.

I will be installing the new shocks in a week or two, so I'll be selling off my Miles xs 13 1/2 inch red shocks.. if anyone wants a slightly used set of these, just let me know. I' all be posting a classified ad once I do the swap.pic is of newly powder coated springs.

Hey all, it's been awhile since I tinkered with my cafe . Cold winter and a surprisingly busy work schedule this past winter has kept me away. So today I found a bit of time to start polishing my cases.. the right side had a nasty gouge in it, so i started with 100 grit to get it out. So far I am now up to 600 grit. Ain't easy.

LATEST add on: modify the kick start to clear rear sets. I got it bent up using mapp gas torch , vice and big hammer. Now I'm sanding out the vice marks before paint or powder coat.
A few months back, I quit smoking cigarettes by replacing the habit with another addiction... vapor "e" cigs. I bought some funky ,bulky, contraption looking battery mod for my vapor fog nicotine consumption/addiction..it looks like a gattling gun..anyway, I dropped it a couple of times and it broke..big waste of money. But wait, the back section on the battery holder looks like it will fit the foot rest part of the kicker. I'm figuring out how to mount it on the end. Should i make it stationary or free spin like a pedal or "gattlin gun".?..Looks like I'm on my way to kicking the vapor habit.. hahahaha lol.
