Hey Guys, it's been a loong time since i've updated my build thread or even posted around here.
Anyhow, I'm finally not so busy with work so i've been spending a little time with my XS.. My ultimate coil shorted somehow while i was riding it the other day( i'm not sure why) so i took the time to clean it up.
I bought some rubberized undercoating from ace and sprayed the undersides of both fenders and the inside of my headlight bucket and it looks great! I'll post some pictures in the next few days.
I just adjusted the valves and put my carburetors through a carb soak... and as soon as i get those back together and my electrics wired back up it should be good to go.
I do have a few questions though:
- I didn't removed the butterfly seals on my BS38's before soaking them in the carb parts bucket... is this gonna cause me problems?
- I have a set of BS34's from a 1980... would it be any better to clean these up and use them on my XS1B instead of the 38's?
- I also have a broken of and beat up valve cover stud that is pretty mangled up that i'd like to fix, what's the best way to go about that? (I'll post a picture of what that looks like to)
Thanks guys!
Taylor
