I recently acquired this fender I cannot use. It’s not XS650. The shape says it is for a Special. It is for a bike with the axle mounted in front of the fork rather than the bottom. It’s narrow, so no go on the Eleven Special. I assume the front axle is shorter than the 650. It has dimples for fork lower clearance. XS750-850-1100 it is not.

I prefer to rehome this rather than dispose of it. Chrome this good is hard to find. Please help me identify it if you can.

The 1980 XS1100 special had forward mounted axle vs standard? Still too narrow?

Is that a guess, or are you sure? XV750 photos look to me that the part where the fender joins the fork tube is different than the Special.
I think you are right, I did have a wrecked XV750 years ago, but my memory isn't what it was.
Revised guesstimate.
How about XS750/850/1100 Special.
Damn.
Beaten to it

Virago's, Maxims, Secas all of that era with chrome fenders all had different brace/mount config.

Stumped for now.

Thanks for trying gentlemen. I appreciate the input.
I have an XS1100 Special. This fender can mount to the 1100, but it is far too narrow. Whatever it goes to has a leading axle, but XS1100, 750 and 850 are out as they all wear the same wheel and fender. I had to pull it open to bolt to the 650. I think it's for a smaller bike. SR400 is also the same axle and at the bottom of the fork.

I looked at that earlier today. Appeared that the black in brace was surrounded by raised (beaded) area - maybe
