I can't recall just which other models of Yamaha's that use smaller bores. If some one on here can recommend which models to look for, then you can shop Places like Ebay for them.

over the years brake problems and upgrades have been bled to death on this site.
Once again, the Tech section and the search button will find you any and all previous input on this topic.
BTW, there is an alternative to improving the front brake's action by fitting a smaller piston area M/C.
Note that the stocker was sized to operate the dual front brakes that the rest of the world's XS650s had.
Add the left-side disk & caliper from an XS750/850/1100 STANDARD and the stock M/C works perfectly.
But Oh! The added unsprung weight!
