Hey guys I just got my new sealed lead acid battery and tried in on and it wont power my bike at all. I trickle charged it and it was at about 13 volts and still wont power anything...

Its a PM12-7B ( 12N5.5-3B 12v 7ah)

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Taylor

I got 2 bad ones in a row.
Check the voltage with your tester full charge should be at 12.7 after resting a bit from charging.
Then with the test leads Still on the battery turn on the key - The voltage should stay up.
Mine would drop to 6 volts? no lights-nothing, i was thinking short.
A Bad Battery was not on my list of possible problems. With the key off the voltage was correct!

It had me really scratching my head because it was new.
Trying it in my other bike convinced me it was bad, and it was warranted again.

Hope yours is that simple.

yeah, i ran into this too. The easiest way to test is to put your headlight across it. If it will light that up, your battery is fine, look elsewhere.
