New signal switch wiring

I would like to use a new signal switch for my bobber build. Something low profile. Do I need to use the cancelation unit from the original wiring harness or do switches have the ability to cancel the blinking from the switch itself?

alot of people prefer to toss the self canceling unit as they can be unreliable

the switch is only three wires either new or old, cancellation unit is separate use it or not

yes either return to center (off) or old style push to cancel which returns to center (off)...
without the canceller the turn signal will stay on until you reset the switch
