new to the vintage tracker

Good afternoon,
I am finding myself becoming quickly addicted to the XS650 street tracker. I currently am loving my dual sport 400, but have been seeing these pictures of these bikes and just can't shake the feeling that I need to build one. My question is what year should I be looking for to make the street tracker a reality? I see the photos with kick starters, I know I definitely want electric start. I am 40 years old and am looking to do a complete tear down rebuild over the coarse of a couple years. So any direction you all can give will greatly be appreciated.

Any year after 1971 has electric start. Model mainly depends on whether you want spoke or Alloy wheels. Here's a nice model / year guide http://www.xs650.org.au/general%20info.HTM It's from Australia but there are few differences outside dual front brakes and colors, grrr...
