Started working on my next personal project!

My Dad began collecting parts for this hardtail bobber a couple years ago, but never got around to doing anything with it.
So I mentioned taking over the project one day, and he was all for it!

So once presented with this project opportunity, I began brainstorming and building it in my mind.

I'd say Dad gave me a good baseline:

1971 XS1B motor (kicker only!!)
1980 Frame
Dusty, surface rusty TC Bros Hard Tail

Couldn't help but mock it up with some spare parts I had lying around..

Then I began to notice money disappearing from my bank account! :wtf: !!!

Luckily some parts showed up at the door, so I felt better :D

So.. I was really liking the way the bike was looking in my mental sketch, so I decided it was time to let go of one of my future project bikes

His jig was a joke. Designed to build Harley frames, and Harley frames ONLY.
No problem, we just cut the piss out of it, and clamped the XS down. By 4 am, and after some budweisers, we welded. (yes its straight, no we're not fools)

Is that white front rim bent?
OH HELL YA!! BIG time bent.. Rear wheel too!
Make for Great mock up wheels if one is to be using 17" rolling stock...

Bought that GSXR 750 for parts.. The motor and those wheels are all I have left

Got it home, and set it up with my sweet supermoto wheels, and crazy cool JAWA tank..

Tank needs a little work to fit, but to start off we're machining new axles, axle spacers, front rotor spacer, and steering stem. I can't wait :bike:

Updates to come!!

Brakes will be one Braking* Supermoto rotor in front (Arrives Tuesday), with a machined rotor spacer to give room for a Brembo 4 piston caliper, rear will be a Braking* CRF 450R rear rotor matched to a smaller 4 piston Motor Quality Shifter Kart caliper.

Thats a 1973 Honda CB350f. Full restoration/resto mod deal going on that guy. It will soon be finished for my brother.

Wheels are as you can see Excel. 3.5x17 front, 5.00x17 rear. Talon QTM hubs, built for an '06 Honda CRF450R supermoto..

Will probably have to find or make an offset sprocket, or do a small jackshaft.. Dad's making rear axle spacers today and tomorrow, While I'm finishing up the wiring on a customer bike.. Not much progress after tomorrow morning though, Labor Day camping trip coming up!

I was really hoping to see those 3 stars on there but the new wheels are sick!
I have another set of those wheels, but unfortunately the brake/sprocket carrier width on the rear wheel is about 1 3/4" too wide for the hard tail.. Thought about widening it, but I didn't really feel like tackling that project on this one.. There's always another bike.. =)
