Oil Filter Size

Is the 650 oil filter the same size as a xs400 or xs750? All the auto parts stores by me only carry those filters, and don't even list the 650 in the filter books. I'd like to do an oil change, but can't find a filter that fits.

Oil or fuel filter? Your confusing me. What year bike, mods, ect?

Sorry, I meant oil filter. It's a 79.

Edit: I did some reading around, looks like you're just supposed to clean the filter. I guess I just assumed you needed to replace it.

There are two filters; the sump filter (it's torn) and the side filter. Because the sump filter is torn the stuff that's coming off your rubber cam chain guide (and everything else the engine has shed in 30 years) stops at the side filter after it goes through the oil pump. Maybe not on every bike, but believe it on most of them. I keep hoping I will find a not torn sump filter but I am up to about 6 to nothing so far. Only because I haven't opened every one I've had.
