Ordered a mikes clutch push screw assembly - extra part? Which cable mount?

Ordered the mikes clutch push screw assembly - aka worm gear. Got it all together and have an extra part. See bottom of picture- it's the little metal piece.
Also, on another note, which clutch cable mount hole are people using? Mikes has two options. As the picture shows, you can see I used the farthest one out.

One end of the little return spring hooks onto the worm gear assembly arm. The other end hooks onto a little pin that protrudes from the cover. That mystery pin looks like a replacement in case you loose your spring hook pin.
The farther out cable mount hole gives you an easier pull, but less separation of the clutch discs. The inner mount hole gives a harder pull, but more separation. If the clutch works good using the outer hole, then fine. If the clutch is dragging, or it's hard to get into neutral, then try using the inner hole.
