Hi all,

I have the HHB PMA and i am having some issues.

When i have the cap connected to my electrical system, the bike will not spark at all.

When i hook up a battery with a known voltage 12.4 volts it fires right up.

it goes down to like 12.3 or so when the bike is running.

I put a meter with a/c volts on the 3 phases of the stator and get around 14v rms and 30v peak. there is .8ohm resistance between each of the 3 wires and none of them have tontinuity between ground.

The thing is it was working fine with the cap and i got about 150 miles on the bike and it just died while i was going 65.

All my fuses are good, and none of the wires are broken/grounded.

When it was working, the bike had about 9 volts at idle, now i get nothing.

any help would be appreciated.

The stator sounds good, all that's left is the reg/rec. Hook-up that battery, measure voltage while revved up to 3000 rpm. If it stays at 12.5 or below, probably need reg/rec...

I have a PMA on mine and just checked it.

1.1 ohms on the three yellows when testing any pair.

Should be infinity when checked from any yellow to ground.

Green from reg/rec to battery negative.

Red from reg/rec to battery positive.

Use a good battery. I had one recently that would only show 13.5 volts, so tried another and bingo, got 14.3 volts.

If you are not between 13.5 to 14.5 volts at 3,000 rpm by putting you meter on 20 volts DC direct to positive and negative terminals of the battery the reg/rec is fried.

If everything looks good, go back and hook up your capacitor and see what the readings are with it.
