Hello,

I'm trying to wire up the coils, condensor and points. but the colors are different to on the wiring diagrams. The bike is an xs650D with a new loon. The loom matches the diagrams for the year. The wiring on the points are orange and grey. The condensor wires are blue with the earth to frame. and on the coil its orange ande grey. Can any one help try and me with the wireing up.

Orange gets the lead from either points set, brown gets the power feed from the main harness. Your points should have an orange and a gray wire running to them. The gray should connect to the upper (right) set and the orange to the lower (left) set. These 2 wires should run up around the top motor mount.

Your condenser pack should be mounted to the back side of the motor mount and have 2 black wires running out of it, one from each condenser in the pack. If there's any grounding going on here, it's from the mounting, not by one of those 2 wires .....

You should have an orange and a gray wire with double female connectors on the ends up by the top motor mount as well. Plug the orange wire from the points into the orange double connector along with one lead from the condenser pack. Plug the gray points wire into the gray double along with the other condenser lead .....

At the coils, plug the orange lead from the points/condenser into the left coil's orange, plug the gray lead into the right coil's orange. Coil browns will get the R/W's from the harness, doesn't matter which, they're from the same source wire.

yes one points lead, one condenser lead, one coil lead, are connected together for each side.
