Pre welded??

Hi all
I'm looking for a Brat Kit. And wanting some input..
As I'm not a welder and would have to hire someone to do the required welding. I was thinking of the pre welded version of the Visual Impact Kit.
Does anyone out there have any experience with this kit. I've been cruising the net and there are some mentions of fit problems ??? Any input on this or other suggestions?

Pre welded is supposed to be a "direct fit" but variances can happen. You'll have to have the welded section welded so if you're concerned maybe just get the diy kit and have it done that way for peace of mind...

Any frame after 73 and you won't have a problem with fitment. The earlier frames came with a lower backbone so all those brat and hardtails have to be manipulated to fit correctly.

Okay thanks for that ,it's a 79 so maybe it will work. I thought it would be more straight forward than dealing with more parts .

I recently purchased a Visual Impact Brat kit for an 83 that I'm playing with. The fit was very good and did not require any "persuasion" to mate with the frame. tim
