I am getting ready to rebuild the engine in my '76 xs650. I have found xs650 direct here in Canada. Are they dealing parts worth using or am I better off going to a Yamaha dealer for OE parts.

XS650direct is a Canadian version of Mike's XS. The origanal Mike of Mike's XS started it up to help keep shipping cost down for our brothers in the north.
When Mike sold the business XS650 direct became independent. They still deal with Mike's but theyare not one company.
That being said some of XS650direct parts are fine others not so fine. There are several threads on here about what parts are better than others.
On Ebay there are piston kits at reasonable prices and several poeple have had good luck using them.
I get parts from Mike's as well as ebay for rebuilding engines.
