Re-Jetting

Hey All. Was wondering about re-jetting. The PO had put aftermarket 17.75" baffles aftermarket exhaust. Not sure what brand but they are from MikesXS. The carbs are jetted stock. 1979 XS 650 Special w/ BS38's. Main is 135 Pilot is 27.5. Do I need to re jet?

What's the bike telling you? Are the plugs white? Is the bike down on power or exhibiting any flat spots through the RPM range? Does it pull slowly and kinda struggle above 5K?

She's not on the road just yet. Just got her running with all the new electronics. Should I wait to ride her a few times then make a judgement?

The only way to know for sure is to ride it. The carb guide has a tuning section. Tells you how to adjust for what the bike tells you.
