I went to remove the rear wheel the other day for the first time in order to access the TCI.
To my surprise the rear wheel would not come off unless I unattached the rear brake caliper from its mount. The tire would not clear through the gap no matter what angle I tried. This seemed weird.
The tire is an old Conti Blitz 130/90-16. I'll be replacing it as soon as I have the engine running ok.
I measured the width if the tire and it is 140mm rather than 130mm. Anyone familiar with this tire and its width? Perhaps it has swollen?
Just for comparison I measured the width of the 140/80-17 on my BMW and it is 140mm as I expected it would be.
I am hoping that a new 130/90 will actually be 130mm in width and permit the wheel to roll back without detaching the caliper.
Thoughts and comments welcome.
